The Black Bag
Our most non-custom bag, for people who are sick of choice. No frills or custom options, just the essential features and the usual bulletproof Seagull construction. Less variation means these are both cheaper for us to make, and we can make them in advance of orders (usually) for quick delivery. Comes in two sizes, because one size doesn’t fit all. You won’t have much luck finding a comparable sized US-made bag with these materials or features at this price. It may be inexpensive, but the Black Bag definitely isn’t cheap.
Features (sorry, no custom options)
- Outer layer is 1000 denier Cordura
(black (duh)); inner layer is 18 oz pvc coated mesh (orange) - Webbing is both heavy weave polypro (for all straps and buckle webbing) & a tight weave nylon doubled over and stitched twice to create the main strap (smooth yet durable)
- Hard delrin 1.5” buckles all the way around
- Classic Seagull metal cam buckle system (I am currently working on a plastic version with a quick release function, but it’s not perfect yet)
- Double layer body (fully floating liner - fully waterproof with protected seams)
- Three ply construction (the bag is made of three pieces, which does away with any pointy corners)
- Solid construction, stitched entirely on one of two industrial Lockstitch sewing machines
- Angled mainstrap — articulated strap, with integrated pad, an anti-sway strap and u-lock holder. Strap pad is an ultra thick, specially designed foam (a seagull exclusive!)
- Two pockets to keep your stuff easy to reach
- Standard interior pocket for important things
- One huge flat pocket under the flap (I have decided not to use zippers at this point).
- Blinky holster
- Clip for keys (or a seagull tool bag) located on the inside of the bag
